Twilight over Kai Tak
In most cases, twilight appears before sunrise and after sunset. It could mark the start of a day, or the closing of dusk. Nonetheless, it is one of the most beautiful times of the sky.
The Hong Kong Kai Tak Airport closed on 10th July 1998. We all miss the airport that watches over Hong Kong as it develops, the legendary turn to final that gave many pilots a challenge, and the reds and whites on the checkerboard that tell you "Time to turn". Not all of us have seen the airport in operation, but it surely is a memory of aviators.
Good for us, we are still fly to Kai Tak on VATSIM! On the 30th July, we will be hosting our annual Kai Tak event! Fly in or out of Kai Tak (VHHX) between 12-16z, challenge yourself with the 47 degrees right turn. See you then!
