VATNZ's Region Revival Series is our year-long event series that explore the stunning regions of Aotearoa New Zealand, The airspace in and around the Waikato will be staffed up ready for pilots to visit the the major port of The Mighty Waikato, Hamilton. Departing from one of the smaller surrounding Aerodromes to meet up with the locals in time for a Kiwi BBQ, all while taking a scenic route to see the sights that the Waikato has to offer.

Pilots can take their favorite aircraft into the destination, however in most cases low and slow VFR flying will be most desirable. However this does not stop anyone taking a larger IFR Capable aircraft and departing from a nearby regional airport to arrive a little bit faster than most, whatever you choose, our friendly team of controllers will be more than happy to welcome you into the country and make your flight an unforgettable one.

Speaking of Controllers, our Local Controllers can expect to control some exciting positions during this series as Event Only Positions and Special Positions are open to be filled throughout the series as we cover the entire country top to bottom.... in no specific order.
