The Nepal vACC is proud to present the Tour of Nepal. Come and fly around Nepal, visiting a different airport each week. Bring anything from a general aviation aircraft to a mid-size airliner such as an ATR 72 or even a helicopter! Be prepared for some stunning flights as we show you what Nepal has to offer.
The third leg of the Tour of Nepal will have you flying up the Terai with the Himalayas to your right. The departure will take you out of Nepal's 2nd international airport which is sandwiched between the Indian border and the Himalayas. The arrival into Nepalgunj will be challenging as the runway is only 1500m long. Turboprops such as the ATR 72 and Q400 are usual visitors. If you choose to fly a jet, stopping will be a challenge.
Flying VFR is highly encouraged as it allows for a more efficient use of airspace. This is because Nepalgunj is a procedural airport which means that only one IFR aircraft is allowed on approach at a time. If you choose to fly IFR please use the following route.
