Welcome to "Sweet Home Bhairahawa"! This is your chance to experience the beauty and culture of Nepal on a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Bhairahawa.
We'll start at Tribhuvan International Airport (VNKT) and head southwest towards the flatlands, where you'll get to see the stunning Chitwan National Park from a bird's eye view. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to some of the world's most exotic wildlife and biodiversity.
As we descend into the Terai region, you'll be surrounded by lush green forests, traditional Tharu villages, and stunning rice paddies. The peaceful atmosphere is a stark contrast to the bustling city of Kathmandu.
Our final destination is Bhairahawa, the birthplace of Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. Here you'll find the Maya Devi Temple, an important pilgrimage site for Buddhists from all over the world.
This event is open to all VATSIM pilots who want to explore Nepal's diverse landscapes and cultures. It's a one-way event from Kathmandu to Bhairahawa, but you're welcome to fly back to Kathmandu on your own time.
