Welcome to "From the Mekong to the Mountains", a VATSIM event that will take you on a scenic flight from the bustling city of Phnom Penh in Cambodia to the majestic mountains of Kathmandu in Nepal.
Starting off from Phnom Penh International Airport (VDPP), we will fly north over the Mekong River, crossing over lush green fields, traditional villages, and ancient temples. As we ascend higher, we'll leave the lowlands behind and enter the foothills of the mighty Himalayas, flying over snow-capped peaks and deep valleys.
As we approach Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport (VNKT), we'll navigate through the challenging mountainous terrain and descend into the valley, passing by iconic landmarks such as the Boudhanath Stupa and the Pashupatinath Temple. Our final approach will take us over the bustling city of Kathmandu, where we'll land safely and conclude our journey.
