Two years ago, we educated the community about pronouncing Westchester correctly (it’s pronounced “wes-ches-tah”). As Memorial Day weekend approaches, the New York ARTCC believes it is our civil duty once again to declare the proper pronunciation of a popular summer destination: Lawn-Guy-Land. Don’t think about saying it any other way or our controllers will taxi you to a blast pad and blast you into nonexistence.
ANYWAY, fly into or out of our mainstay Lawn-Guy-Land airports, Islip (ISP), or Republic (FRG) for a fun Sunday afternoon! Enjoy some scenic views of this very long island and annoy residents by flying too low.
