Ever thought about crossing the big Canada, but couldn't find a suitable time where all 5 FIRs (or more) would be staffed up? Well no more thinking shall you do! Reserve your Sunday afternoon on June 9th for the very first edition of Cross The Provinces where Vatcan will be (almost) fully staffed up to welcome flights from the West Coast all the way to the St-Laurent's Valley! *(To avoid confusion with other potential events, refrain from using the CTP abbreviation)
Starting at 1800z (1100PDT/1200MDT), the Vancouver and Edmonton FIRs will welcome you for your journey across Canada at Vancouver Int'l (CYVR) and Calgary Int'l (CYYC) airports. Then, around 1900z (1300MDT/1400CDT), the Winnipeg FIR will light up to ensure safe crossing over the Prairies. Finally, around 2200z (1800EDT), the Toronto and Montréal FIRs will boot up to greet you at Toronto Pearson Int'l (CYYZ) and Montréal Pierre Elliott-Trudeau (CYUL) airports.

No slot bookings will be held. First come first serve.
All FIRs will guarantee staffing for event traffic, but might not extend staffing before/beyond event traffic. **Event traffic is considered to be all traffic departing CYVR or CYYC between 1800z and 2100z. **
Because of the nature of the flights, ATC will expect out of cockpit demands from pilots, but pilots should still plan forward and anticipate when they will be needed by ATC (climb, descend, sequence). Look where you are and where other planes are on the map before asking for 5-10 minutes.
