At busy airports or during events, it can be tough to get comfortable with the pace. That’s why VATSIM created First Wings events, designed to help pilots get used to the phraseology, procedures, and what’s expected of them.
For this edition, we’re heading to the UK! Fly between Birmingham (EGBB) and Newcastle (EGNT), both ways, with departures scheduled between 1300-1500z on 01 September.
Before and during the event, experienced and patient controllers and pilots will be available on the VATSIM Discord to answer any questions you may have. Join the Discord at https://community.vatsim.net/. If you don’t use Discord, VATSIM Supervisors will be on hand and reachable anytime during the event via a .wallop command.
To ensure a fun and smooth afternoon for pilots and controllers alike, slots are required! Pilots without a booked flight can and will be delayed. Book at booking.vatsim.net. To give everyone a chance to participate, regardless of their timezone, the event location rotates each month, covering different regions around the world.
