(Fun Fact: our first ever Northern Lights Tuesday was 27 Apr 22 and we have maintained the same event every week since then)
We offer various challenge experiences for all pilots:
Easy Experiences: Flights between our minors (CYMM and CYZF) are great for beginners and let you experience basic ground ops, basic Standard Instrument Departures (SIDs) and basic runway approaches. VFR flights and circuits around CYMM and CYZF are great experiences as well. (plan 1 - 3 hr flights)
Moderate Experiences: Flights between our minors and our majors (i.e. CYMM and CYYC or CYEG and CYZF) step up the challenge and introduce more complicated ground ops and Standard Terminal Arrival Routes (STARs) procedures. (plan 1.5 - 2.5 hrs one way)
Advanced Experience: Edmonton FIR uniquely offers you two majors and the ultimate challenge. Flight between CYYC and CYEG and tackle your ground ops, a SID, STAR and approach all within 45 mins flight time... 45 mins assumes a headwind (:p)
