Musicalaviator passed away suddenly on December 13th, 2024. Trent was a member of VATSIM for more than 23 years, almost since the birth of VATSIM itself. Throughout that time, he was always an active member. He amassed a whopping 12,800 hours on the network, and as the longest ever serving staff member of VATPAC, contributed countless hours behind the scenes as VATPAC itself evolved.
MRM was, by a decent margin, Trent's favourite event. He rarely missed one and, some 15 years ago, was instrumental in the solidification of MRM into what is is today, VATPAC's flagship weekly event.
VATPAC invites everyone to join us for a Memorial MRM on January 6th, 2024 0700-1100z flying between Melbourne (YMML) and Sydney (YSSY), or the reciprocal route, in memory of Trent's enormous contribution to VATPAC, VATSIM, and the wider virtual aviation community through his successful YouTube channel (search musicalaviator).
The event will culminate with a missing man formation flyover performed by the Virtual Royal Australian Air Force team along Sydney Harbour and overflying Sydney Airport at 1115z.
